Taos Academy’s vision was developed by a team of educational professionals striving to meet the needs of 21st century learners - the digital generation. Our digital generation demands more of their learning experiences; they require interactive learning environments, individualized curriculum, and emotional support. Taking the opportunity to combine technological innovations with meaningful interactions in both the local and global community, we’ve included outdoor education and state of the art media and science labs in our educational design and created rich opportunities for students to develop and practice leadership skills. From the combined experience of more than 30 years in education, has emerged a hybrid learning environment, combining technology and face-to-face instruction, poised to meet the needs of the “digital citizen”.

The charitable purpose for which the Taos Academy Foundation is organized is to assist and support the building and success of Taos Academy Charter School; to assist Taos Academy to achieve the goals of promoting academic achievement, strong leadership skills, and social responsibility; and to do those things necessary for the accomplishment of these and related purposes, not forbidden by law and the Articles of Incorporation, including receiving grants and gifts and acquiring and disposing of property for the furtherance of the stated purposes.

STEM Institute is our art program that engages youth in science, technology, engineering, and math through art classes. Artists from the community offer workshops using these concepts aligning to NM content standards. Some of the workshops include video game design, glass fusion, green technology, culinary arts, band, installation art, recycled fashion, and kinetic sculpture. Donations can be made to the program in general or to fund a specific workshop. E-mail us to find out more about our STEM programs.

Taos Academy is a state-of-the-art technology school, delivering online curriculum and face to face technology training in our SmartLab. Donations can be used for hardware, software, and for providing additional programs to students and to the Taos community. Please e-mail us to learn more about our exciting programs.

Please make a donation to this area if you would like to support our general operations, improvements and additions. We are currently expanding and all donations toward our efforts will be graciously accepted.

Taos Academy offers overnight trips into the wilderness in the fall and outings in the spring semesters for all students to develop leadership and teambuilding skills. Students also participate in ski/snowboard club, ice skating or an alternate activity during the winter months. Donations can be used to cover fees for a larger trip, for sponsoring a student in winter activities, or for backpacking, camping, or sports equipment. If you do not specify your gift, it will be designated to the area of greatest need.

If you prefer not to use our online donation system, make your check made payable to “Taos Academy Foundation”, include in the memo one of our focus areas, and send to 110 Paseo del Cañon West, Taos, NM 87571. You will receive a letter acknowledging your donation for tax purposes stating how the funds were used. Please come by and visit the school to see these exciting programs in action.
